Outplacement Doesn’t Cost, It Pays!
A survey of 1,200 American Human Resource executives by Human Resources Magazine (March, 2004) revealed:
2/3’s indicated that outplacement programs reduces stress on those responsible for restructuring or reorganizing departments
Over half believed it improves the morale of remaining employees
78% said it improves the company’s internal and external image
72% said it helped reduce litigation related to termination issues
The article summarized that HR professionals “recognize that, by providing effective support for departing employees, they reap dividends that go far beyond simply avoiding reprisals and lawsuits. A well managed workforce change can maintain or even strengthen employee, community and investor relations. It is also key to ensuring high morale, productivity and retention among remaining employees.” |
